Warhol. Elvis. Marlon.

Achieving a record $81,925,000, Triple Elvis became the highest price paid for the artist at the time of sale, while Four Marlons brought in a sizable $69,615,000. They remain the second and fourth highest prices achieved for the artist at auction.

The Books.

This special boxed set was published to coincide with the sales of Andy Warhol’s Triple Elvis and Four Marlons at Christie’s New York in November 2014. Sold as individual lots from the same collector, the objective was to promote the subjects of the two works, along with the artist, as the perfect trifecta of 1960s culture. Icons of art, music, and film, the names Andy Warhol, Elvis Presley, and Marlon Brando came to epitomize the archetype of cool at the height of celebrity. This two volume set features original and archival content throughout, as well as a timeline of the 1960s that traverses across both volumes.
