The Book.

Newhouse: Masterpieces from the Collection of S.I. Newhouse was published in May 2019 to coincide with the sale of eleven Impressionist & Modern and Post-War & Contemporary art masterpieces from the Newhouse collection. From the renowned collection of the Condé Nast publishing magnate, this publication is the second in a series of three branded volumes that memorialize the legacy of this highly regarded collection. Newhouse: Masterpieces from the Collection of S.I. Newhouse features all original content anchored with texts written by curator, Mark Rosenthal; art historian, Dr. Richard Brettell; and art critic, Blake Gopnik. This classically designed publication is copiously illustrated with rare peeks into Si’s Alexander Gorlin designed apartment, as well as intensely vivid details of each work of art.

“Si was the greatest collector in the world. If you went to his townhouse, he had a better collection of postwar paintings than the Museum of Modern Art. It was dazzling, everywhere you looked there was a masterpiece!”
